The Local Government Unit of Burgos, Ilocos Sur headed by Mayor Annabelle Filart Escobar commenced the distribution of rice assistance under the Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU) Program, providing much-needed support to identified vulnerable households in the municipality.

The implementation of the program is made possible through funding from the National Government, which was transferred to the Local Government Unit of Burgos under the Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU) Program to support the delivery of essential services and assistance to qualified beneficiaries.

A total of 2,117 vulnerable households have been identified as beneficiaries of the program. Each beneficiary household is set to receive a total of 50 kilograms of rice, which will be distributed in three batches to ensure a continuous supply of assistance throughout the implementation period.

The highlight of the activity was the distribution of the first batch of 20 kilograms of rice, covering the assistance for the months of June and July.

The remaining rice assistance will be distributed in the succeeding months, with the second batch consisting of 10 kilograms scheduled around August, followed by the final batch of 20 kilograms for the September–October period. The exact schedule for these distributions will be announced at a later date.
