As part of its continuing commitment to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agriculture, the Local Government Unit of Burgos, Ilocos Sur headed by Mayor Annabelle Filart Escobar, through the Municipal Agriculture Office, LGU-Burgos, Ilocos Sur, conducted the distribution of vegetable seeds to 120 registered vegetable growers in the municipality.

In addition to the registered growers, vegetable seeds were also distributed to schools to support and sustain their school garden initiatives, as well as to the different barangays for the implementation of their HAPAG (Halina’t Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay) Program.

The Municipal Agriculture Office emphasized that this initiative forms part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to enhance local agricultural productivity, improve food availability, and empower communities through urban and backyard gardening.

The MAO also wishes to inform the public that its office remains open to everyone who is interested in growing vegetables. Residents who would like to receive technical assistance, gardening advice, or participate in future vegetable production programs are encouraged to visit the Municipal Agriculture Office and avail themselves of the services and support being offered.
