The Local Government Unit of Burgos, Ilocos Sur headed by Mayor Annabelle Filart Escobar conducted its Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, bringing together municipal officials, employees, and representatives from partner agencies in a display of unity, patriotism, and commitment to public service.


Present during the ceremony were Mayor Annabelle F. Escobar, Vice Mayor Riolita R. Balbalan, members of the Municipal Officials, MLGOO Engr. Isidora E. Vendiola, municipal employees, and personnel from the Burgos Municipal Police Station and Burgos Fire Station.
Following the flag raising ceremony, Mayor Escobar delivered her message and provided updates on the recently concluded distribution of various farm inputs to registered rice farmers in the municipality. She highlighted the successful implementation of the agricultural assistance program, which benefited thousands of local farmers and reinforced the LGU’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector.

Mayor Escobar also informed the attendees about the upcoming Tree Planting Activity scheduled on July 4, to be conducted at the Municipal Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). She encouraged all municipal employees to actively participate in the activity as part of the municipality’s continuing efforts to promote environmental protection, sustainability, and climate change adaptation initiatives.

Meanwhile, MLGOO Engr. Isidora E. Vendiola congratulated the Local Government Unit of Burgos for successfully passing the Seal of Good Housekeeping for Calendar Year 2025. She commended the LGU officials and employees for their dedication to transparency, accountability, and good governance, emphasizing that the recognition reflects the collective efforts of the municipal government in delivering quality public service to its constituents.
