The Local Government Unit of Burgos, Ilocos Sur headed by Mayor Annabelle Filart Escobar through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and its Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program, conducted the distribution of ECCD Checklists and reading materials/books to all Child Development Workers (CDWs) in the municipality.

The activity aimed to strengthen the implementation of early childhood care and development services by providing Child Development Workers with essential tools and educational resources necessary for monitoring children’s growth and development, as well as enhancing literacy and learning among young learners in the Child Development Centers.

The ECCD Checklists will serve as vital instruments in assessing and documenting the developmental milestones of children, ensuring that appropriate interventions and support services are provided when needed. Meanwhile, the reading materials and books will help enrich classroom activities and promote a culture of reading among children, fostering their cognitive, language, and social development.
