The Local Government Unit of Burgos, Ilocos Sur headed by Mayor Annabelle Filart Escobar once again commenced the week with the traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, a symbol of patriotism, unity, and commitment to public service.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Annabelle F. Escobar, Vice Mayor Riolita R. Balbalan, the Sangguniang Bayan Members, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Engr. Isidora E. Vendiola, municipal employees, and personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Following the flag raising ceremony, Mrs. Irene D. Galimba, Human Resource Management Officer V (HRMO V), formally introduced the five newly appointed employees who will be joining the LGU Burgos workforce. The newly appointed personnel are:
• Eila May Almazan – Administrative Aide III
• Norelyn Barliso – Administrative Aide III
• Marcial Aguidan – Administrative Aide I
• Florencio Sison Jr. – Administrative Aide I
• Marco Escobar – Administrative Aide I

Meanwhile, Mr. Jezrael Lou Tamayo, PESO Manager-Designate, introduced the LGU-funded Government Internship Program (GIP) beneficiaries who will be deployed to various offices. The interns will work alongside government professionals and gain valuable experience in public service for a period of 20 days. The deployed GIPs are:
• Mhyla Francine Devis – Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office
• Elyka Joy Juan – 4Ps Office
• Jayvie Macarubbo – PNP Burgos
• Ashlyn Nicole Degracia – Municipal Treasurer’s Office
• Matt Benjamin Mendoza – Municipal Environment and Natural Resources (MENR) Office

Additionally, Dr. Angelica Rocelle M. Pablico, Municipal Health Officer, introduced Mr. Francis Carl Dato, an On-the-Job Training (OJT) student from the University of the Philippines Manila taking up Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Science. Mr. Dato will be rendering his services at the Pharmacy located within the Municipal Health Office for a period of six weeks.

In the final part of the program, Ms. Karen May Dalit, Municipal Link, informed the public regarding the scheduled validation for new potential beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), which will be conducted on June 23 and 24.
