In its continued commitment to support and strengthen the livelihood of local farmers, the Local Government Unit of Burgos, Ilocos Sur, under the leadership of Mayor Annabelle Filart Escobar, through the Municipal Agriculture Office, LGU-Burgos, Ilocos Sur, conducted the distribution of water pumps to registered tobacco growers within the municipality.
The activity was attended by Committee Chair on Agriculture Sangguniang Bayan Member Ben Marius Gabriel F. Escobar, together with his fellow Sangguniang Bayan Members, as they joined in ensuring the successful implementation of this agricultural support program for the tobacco farming community of Burgos.
A total of 584 units of Kubota RK70 Water Pumps and 92 units of Shinmax R180 NL Water Pumps were distributed to the registered tobacco farmers. The provision of these agricultural equipment aims to assist farmers in improving farm productivity, enhancing irrigation practices, and providing additional support for their day-to-day farming operations.
To ensure an organized, efficient, and safe distribution process, the release of the equipment was scheduled over three days. The first day of distribution was allotted to tobacco growers from Barangays Manaboc and Bangbangar.
