The LGU of Burgos, Ilocos Sur headed by Mayor Nathaniel D. Escobar joins the conduct of the 1^st quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill together with all the Municipal Officials led by Vice Mayor Riolita R. Balbalan, Employees, BFP Personnel headed by MFM SFO4 Antonio T Rigunay, PNP personnel headed by OIC-COP Melvin G Trinidad and Department of Health Personnel at the Municipal grounds on March 25, 2024.

Mr. Dan Alfred E. Romero, LDRRMO II provided a brief orientation to all participant with regards to the conduct of the earthquake drill.

The said activity started with a one-minute siren at exactly 9:00 AM in which each and every participant performed the Duck, Cover and Hold up until there was go signal indicating that it’s safe to evacuate where every participant then calmly relocates to a safer location.

The head of every department then performs a head count to ensure that every one is in the scene, when someone is missing, the Local Emergency Response Team led by Mr. Dan Alfred E. Romero together with the personnel of BFP and PNP springs into action to conduct a search and rescue operation.

The MDRRM Chairman/Mayor Nathaniel D. Escobar is committed to prepare each and every one to be prepared, when necessary, to remind and equip as much personnel, volunteers and the community with the knowledge needed in case of emergency in order to minimize the possible amount of casualty.
