The Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur headed by Gov. Ryan Luis V. Singson in partnership with the LGU headed by Hon. Nathaniel D. Escobar extended their services to the Municipality of Burgos which consists of three subprograms, Assistance to individuals in Crisis Situation, Medical/Dental Consultation and Distribution of Agricultural Inputs on March 22, 2022 at the Municipal Covered Court.

The Medical Services provided are free consultations (pedia, OBGyn, Seniors, Etc.) with medicines and vitamins, the dental services were free pasta, oral care and minor surgery if necessary and free circumcision operation.

“During the pandemic, people have been deprived of medical and surgical need, so right now this is the priority that we are providing by coming to Burgos to ensure that the people will be able to avail of the services that we are giving”. Dr. Trina Talaga, Provincial Health Officer Said. “These services that come to our doorsteps does not happen every day, so we would like to encourage the people to grab the opportunity today where the consultation and medicines given are accurate and free.” She added

“As the name goes, it is them who took the time to come here to provide us with the free medical services which is a very big help from our Governor for us who are financially challenged.” Mr. John R. Ortega, Punong Barangay of Barangay Macaoayan Stated.

The second service which is the Assistance to individuals in Crisis Situation program was the awarding of financial incentives to the PWDs of Burgos, Ilocos Sur.

“This program of providing financial assistance to the residents of Burgos especially the PWD is a huge helping hand for them and their families to augment the expenses for their daily needs. So, I would personally like to thank the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur headed by Governor Ryan Luis Singson for these programs that were provided today here at Burgos, Ilocos Sur.” Mr. Waldemar D.Dandoy, Punong Barangay of Barangay Subadi Sur, said.

And the distribution of agricultural inputs is the turnover of tractors, seed planters, seed harvesters, seedling transplanting machines, grass cutters, battery operated knapsack sprayers, Fish Feeds, etc. to each and all of the 26 farmers association of Burgos, Ilocos Sur.

“These sets of equipment are a big help to us farmers in general in barangay Bessang for granting these machineries that would make the lives of tobacco, corn, vegetable, etc. growers easier. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur headed by Gov. Ryan Luis Singson for always being there to support us.” Mr. Efren S. Vitales, Punong Barangay of Barangay Bessang Stated.

During the outreach program, Governor Ryan Luis V. Singson acknowledged the unyielding efforts and immeasurable sacrifices at all the frontliners of Ilocos Sur. As of today, according to the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, the province has been awarded for being one of the most outstanding provinces for the high number of Vaccination. So far there is only a total of 19 active Covid19 cases in Ilocos Sur remaining, “congratulations to the Municipality of Burgos for being Covid free, hopefully the province of Ilocos Sur too will be covid free” he added.
