The Local Government Unit of Burgos, Ilocos Sur headed by Mayor Nathaniel D. Escobar together with the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Riolita R. Balbalan conducted the distribution of educational assistance to ninety-seven (97) scholar-beneficiaries amounting to Two Thousand Seven Hundred Pesos each.

A brief program was conducted for the said activity which was opened by SBM. Christopher S. Belen, Committee on Education as he welcomed each and every scholar-beneficiary with a proud smile expressing his happiness to see the future generations full of dreams and ambitions.

An important message was given by our Vice Mayor Balbalan, reminding them to always make the right choices, and that they can start by surrounding themselves with positive people until they themselves can initiate and spread more positivity.

Mayor Boy Escobar followed up her message with an advice telling them to not waste opportunities and instead grab them and learn for the better of their own future. Mayor Boy also emphasized continuing to dream big, to keep on studying and always be hungry to learn until they can fully embrace their ambitions. He also stated his excitement to see the scholar-beneficiaries again in the future wearing the uniform of their chosen profession to be.

Mr. John Mark C Señedo, represented the scholar-beneficiaries by sharing a few words of gratitude to Mayor Boy Escobar, Vice Mayor Balbalan and to all the Municipal Officials.

Mrs. Irene D. Galimba, then closed the program with another advice to study hard and reminded them that as a parent, proper education is one of the most important gift any parent could give their children and that some parents may or may not show it, their achievements and success will also be their parents success.

Mrs. Irene D. Galimba, Administrative Officer IV and the staff of the Mayor’s Office facilitated the said activity.
