The Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers Program (TUPAD) is a flagship program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) which aims to contribute poverty alleviation and reduction and inclusive growth. For this year, the priority beneficiaries are the qualified registered farmers and their immediate families who are affected by El Nino, persons deprived of liberty, parents of severely wasted children and parents of child labor at risk.
The Local Government Unit of Burgos, Ilocos Sur headed by Mayor Nathaniel D. Escobar thru the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) led by PESO Manager-Designate Mrs. Irene D. Galimba, Administrative Officer IV together with the personnel of the office of the Mayor facilitated the Orientation which was led by Ms. Nikki Versoza, TUPAD Coordinator from DOLE Ilocos Sur Field Office, for 363 TUPAD beneficiaries (Batch 1) from the 26 barangays of Burgos, Ilocos Sur. The Orientation is their 1st day of work and they will be working for nine (9) days through community cleaning, HAPAG (Halina’t Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay) or gulayan sa barangay amongst others in their respective barangays.
