On May 28, 1898, The Philippine Flag was first unfurled after the Philippine Revolutionary Army defeated the Spanish forces in the battle at Alapan, Imus, Cavite. It was formally presented to the people on June 12, 1898. With this said, the Philippine Flag is a very important symbol for it symbolizes the freedom, independence and identity of the people.
After the effects of the super typhoon Betty (MAWAR), The Local Government Unit of Burgos, Ilocos Sur will be displaying Philippine Flags on public establishments in the Municipality in celebration of the Philippines Independence Day. (Vanjourg C. Arreola)
